Two other companies quoted a full replacement for a ceiling stain. These guys went in the attic first, showed me a photo of snow sitting on the insulation and a perfectly clean deck, and replaced the ridge vent and the soffit instead. A quarter of the money and the stain never came back.

They talked me out of adding more roof vents, which is not what I expected from a roofer. Explained why with the actual guidance, sealed the ceiling from the attic, and put in one proper ridge run to replace six boxes. First winter with a dry attic in years.

Wind took the ridge cap off in February. Tarped it the same evening with furring strips and screws instead of tape, which the last outfit tried and lost overnight. Came back in April and did the whole ridge properly. Photos of everything.

Honest estimate on an old steep roof. They found the real leak at the chimney, built a cricket behind it and cut the counter-flashing into the mortar rather than gluing it on the brick. Told me the rest of the roof had years left. It did.
